Dedicated Energy Audit team available to help meet December deadline

Veolia, Ireland’s leading environmental services company, has created a dedicated team of experts to help Irish companies meet the deadline of 5th December 2015 for completion of an Energy Audit.

The Energy Audit scheme is the Government's response to implementing Article 8 of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive that requires member states to ensure that large organisations undertake an energy audit by 5th December 2015.

Who needs to comply?

You will need to carry out an Energy Audit by 5th December 2015 if your organisation meets either of the following criteria:

  • Employs at least 250 people; or
  • Has an annual turnover in excess of €50 million, and an annual balance sheet in excess of €43 million

 

What does it involve?

  • Assess and audit the energy use of your key buildings, transportation and industrial or commercial processes
  • Determine the areas that represent at least 70% of the total energy consumption
  • Appoint a Registered Energy Auditor capable of managing the requirements set out in the Energy Audit Scheme
  • Find cost-effective ways to improve energy efficiency in areas of high energy consumption
  • Notify SEAI once the CEO or Director has signed off a completed Energy Audit assessment and you are compliant with your obligations under the scheme.
