[ Press releases listing ](/media/media/news-and-press-releases " Press releases listing") 12 Nov. 2019 **Veolia’s leadership in environmental and social responsibility has been recognised by Business in the Community Ireland.** ![](/sites/g/files/dvc2576/files/styles/default/public/image/2019/11/Veolia.JPG.webp?itok=EkscH1je) Sinead Patton, Chief Financial and Commercial Officer, receives the Business Working Responsibly certificate from Richard Murphy, Chairman, BITC Ireland Veolia has been accredited for a further three years with the Business Working Responsibly Mark certification for responsible and sustainable business practices. The Mark, developed by Business in the Community Ireland and audited by the NSAI, is the only independently audited standard for CSR and Sustainability in Ireland. It is based on ISO 26000. The accreditation process for the Mark involved a detailed review of Veolia’s approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability looking at leadership, policies, practices, performance, and impact across: - Stakeholder Engagement - Employee Engagement - Customer Service - Innovation - Supply Chain Management - Environmental Practices - CSR Governance and Communications Commenting on the successful reaccreditation, Sinead Patton, Chief Financial and Commercial Officer, said “Being accredited with the Mark shows how our 600-strong team has made responsible thinking part of how we do business throughout Ireland. Sinead Patton Chief Financial and Commercial Officer Tomás Sercovich, CEO of Business in the Community Ireland, added: *“Congratulations to Veolia on re-certifying to the Mark. Sustainability has come of age so independent evaluation is important to achieve and Veolia is demonstrating a real commitment to CSR and sustainability but achieving it for the second time.”* The reaccreditation was announced at BITC Ireland’s Annual CEO Forum which took place on 13 November 2019 in the Mansion House in Dublin. The CEO Forum, which is the country’s longest running event for business leaders dedicated to key trends in sustainability and the role of business in society, was attended by 250 people from some of Ireland’s leading companies.
