Launching our 2025–2028 Social Value Strategy

We’re proud to announce the launch of our 2025-2028 Veolia UK & Ireland Social Value Strategy.

It sets out how we will create lasting positive impact across our communities, environment and economy over the next three years and beyond.

This strategy unites all our social and environmental initiatives beyond our core services, and it’s relevant to everyone, no matter your role.

Social Value is embedded in everything we do - from how we work with customers, to how we manage contracts, recruit talent and engage with communities.

"Together, we’re turning our purpose of Ecological Transformation into meaningful action that benefits society today and for generations to come."

Gavin Graveson
Chief Executive Officer, Veolia United Kingdom & Ireland

The three pillars of our strategy

Empowering our people

We’re committed to supporting the wellbeing, growth and inclusion of every employee. This means:

  • Prioritising health, safety, and wellbeing - physical, mental, social and financial;
  • Offering high-quality training, apprenticeships and career pathways for all ages;
  • Creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels they belong.

These initiatives are designed to help everyone in Veolia to thrive in their roles while working in a safe and supportive environment.

Driving environmental responsibility

We use our expertise to protect and enhance the environment in the communities we serve. This includes:

  • Funding and delivering local environmental projects, such as planting fruit trees in schools and enhancing green space on our sites and within our communities;
  • Educating and engaging people of all ages on sustainability.

Everyone in Veolia plays a role in delivering environmental benefits - through customer projects, community engagement or improving our own operations.

Supporting a thriving economy and society

We aim to strengthen local economies and improve community wellbeing by:

  • Supporting those from under-represented backgrounds to access opportunities;
  • Improving the health, happiness and safety of our communities;
  • Supporting SMEs and diverse-owned businesses through sustainable procurement.

These initiatives help us all to build stronger partnerships, meet customer expectations and deliver real value to society.
