Decarbonisation and the Future of Energy

COP26: putting ecological transformation at the heart of the fight against climate change

Six years after COP21, and the signing of the Paris Agreement by 195 delegations, COP26 will take place in Glasgow from November 1 to 12, 2021.

The conference will focus on accelerating action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The IPCC report published in August sounded the alarm when it revealed that unless we take rapid action, the +1.5°C threshold will be breached by 2030, with +2°C quickly exceeded this century. Countries, organisations and people all have key roles to play to help implement concrete climate solutions with specific time scales and targets.

Veolia is committed to ecological transformation, our purpose. We are working to safeguard resources and decarbonise our activities and those of our customers. This includes:

  • Optimising energy efficiency in buildings and in industry
  • Safe, compliant treatment and recovery of waste
  • Sustainable management of water resources
