Veolia leverages its extensive expertise and ongoing investment in specialised facilities to transform waste solvents from a disposal problem into a valuable resource.
We offer two primary avenues for solvent recovery
Secondary Liquid Fuel
Our Fermoy facility utilises advanced technology to blend various solvent wastes into a high-quality Secondary Liquid Fuel (SLF). This fuel serves as an effective replacement for fossil fuels in the cement industry.
By converting your waste solvent into an SLF, we ensure it is recovered rather than disposed of, qualifying your waste for an R3 recovery code.
Recovery for Reuse
Our state-of-the-art solvent recovery plant in Garston, near Liverpool, provides comprehensive handling, cleaning, purifying, and recycling services for a diverse range of solvents. Using a careful distillation process, the facility separates pure solvent from contaminants and impurities.
The output is a clean, product-grade material that can be sold back into the industry or returned directly to you, reducing your reliance on virgin solvents.
The solvent recycling and recovery process includes:
- Sampling and analysing your waste’s suitability for recovery, reuse or residual disposal
- Completing all the appropriate documentation to fulfil your legal and reporting obligations
- Collecting your waste in a purpose-built vehicle by fully trained and equipped staff
Recovering circa 20,000 tonnes of waste to reuse as Secondary Liquid Fuel (SLF) annually
