IDA Ireland and Veolia  teamed up with the France Ireland Chamber of Commerce to discuss business and environmental resilience.

Organised by the FICC’s Climate Response Working Group – La Vie en Vert, the event explored the critical role of sustainability in modern corporate strategy. The session was moderated by Veolia’s Áine Flanagan, who serves as the Chairperson of the Working Group.

The webinar featured a keynote presentation by  sustainability expert Dr. Matt Kennedy, Global Head of Client Transformation, IDA Ireland. During the highly insightful session, Matt unpacked the growing intersection between global geopolitics, climate priorities, and business strategy. He provided attendees with a deep dive into how international developments, rapidly evolving climate policies, and global economic shifts are fundamentally reshaping the business landscape for companies operating in Ireland.

A major focal point of the discussion was the shift in how sustainability is perceived in the corporate world—moving from a compliance metric to a core driver of commercial success. Matt and Áine explored how embracing sustainable practices can become a true competitive advantage for Irish-based businesses. By integrating climate priorities into their core strategies, organisations can significantly strengthen their market positioning, build operational resilience, and secure long-term, sustainable growth.
