Mapping of the water consumption of industrial facilities by Veolia identifies water reduction/re-use possibilities. The study includes:

  • Preparation of a water balance map
  • Identification of reducing/re-use water opportunities in order to reduce the overall water consumption of the factory
  • Provide high-level capital cost and payback for the water reduction/re-use projects identified

This process identified potential water usage savings for a number of industrial customers.

To deal with elevated turbidity in potable water Irish Water and Kilkenny County Council rented a clarification unit from Veolia's Engineering Technologies team. The unit consisted of Coagulation dosing and a Multiflo Clarification plant that was capable of treating 15 - 23m3/hr.

Renting this unit allowed Irish Waste to provide clear drinking water to the public while a new permanent solution was, planned and constructed.

We currently have Actiflo units being used to provide temporary water treatment solutions on live sites such Vartry Water Treatment Works and Smear Water Treatment Works. These units allow the facilities to remain fully operational while major construction, upgrade, refurbishment and expansion contracts are being delivered.

A large distillery, who is expanding their storage facilities over a number of years, need to treat elevated turbidity in tailing pond discharge.

Veolia's Engineering Technologies team supplied a Multiflow clarification unit and a Sludge dewatering Centrifuge on long term hire to help the distillery meet their discharge requirements.

Veolia successfully completed a Supply, Install, and Commission project of a Gas Chlorination System to treat 10,000m3/day for Kerry Ingredients. The system has a fully automatic flow and setpoint residual control with the latest safety requirements for gas installation.

Veolia supported the project with a 1-year Service & Maintenance contract.
